Adam Theis is a multi-instrumentalist, producer, bandleader and composer based in Oakland, CA who plays trombone, trumpet, tuba, bass, keyboards and many other instruments. Adam has been an active member of the Bay Area music scene for the past 25 years.

In 2000, Theis co-founded Jazz Mafia, an eclectic artist-collective of some of the most forward-thinking and accomplished players in the fields of Electro, Hip-Hop, World, Classical and of course, Jazz. As Jazz Mafia’s director, Adam has assembled over 100 different live projects over the past 16 years and led/co-led dozens of acclaimed bands including: The Shotgun Wedding Quintet (Live/Hip-Hop Crossover), Realistic Orchestra (futuristic Big Band), Cosa Nostra Strings (Classical/Jazz Crossover), Subharmonic (electro/jazz), Brass Mafia (Brass Band) and the 50 piece Jazz Mafia Symphony.

Establishing, connecting and corresponding directly with our audience — cutting out the middle man and having 100% complete control over our artistry.
Many things I’d been trying to accomplish through the past many years but had hit walls and roadblocks, suddenly seemed possible.

Jefferson Bergey is a friend who’s been nailing it with weekly livestream performances during the pandemic that always bring a smile. Otis McDonald, aka Joe Bagale, has been doing a ton of weekly Friday-eve livestreams where he creates an entire song in the studio in front of your very eyes. I watch and learn regularly and frequently collaborate with him.
