Indra Mungal is highly experienced at developing and sustaining authentic community engagement for non-profit organizations; she has produced successful arts and cultural events, and educational programs throughout the San Francisco Bay Area for decades. She is passionate about working to ensure that Bay Area arts and cultural institutions thrive, and that they have a positive impact on surrounding communities. Ms. Mungal has worked in the education departments at the Oakland Museum of California and KQED (PBS station for the San Francisco Bay Area), as well as many other smaller non-profits. She is currently the Senior Educator for Public Programs at the Asian Art Museum, where she produces a range of monthly public programs for adult audiences.
A revolution for social justice and equity is possible if we all work together.
Self-care is critical, as the bottom 99% of us have to find ways to thrive in a capitalist society that profits off poverty and oppression. We also need to center BIPOC, LGBTQ, and disabled people in the work we do…include them at the table from the beginning of our projects. In the words of the Farmworker movement: Si se puede!!
